Looking back on my blog I feel proud to call it my own. I have learnt so much in Networked Media Production and love that it is such a hands on, practical unit. When I started this blog I had no idea what to post about. My original idea was about moving out but as I started posting and got settled in to my apartment in Canberra I realised that it was not an ongoing topic for a blog. I decided to change course. I altered my introductory post and added a few things and transformed it into a How To Blog. There are miscellaneous topics but it is mainly recipes for desserts. I have stuck to the original idea about moving in, with a few posts about “How To: Budget as a Uni Student” and “How To: Understand HTML”.
In week 4 and 5 I learnt about the Google Analytics and how we can see who views our blog. After looking at the analytics a few times I was a little disappointed that I had such a small audience. However, after a few weeks of following and being followed I noticed I was getting page views from America! These people were primarily bloggers who also posted about recipes and food.
Another aspect of blogging which was highly effective was using Widgets. I am a minimalist so I did not want to over crowd my page with too much activity. I only stuck to a music player, Share it and Disqus. These three Widgets alone, showed me that people were viewing my blog. I received comments and had my blog shared among social networking sites including Facebook and Twitter.
Overall I enjoyed customizing the standard theme and loved engaging with other bloggers on Tumblr!
My top three posts which I would like to share with you are:
